BEHOLD, CHILDREN ARE A GIFT FROM THE LORD.

I have observed that, Nigerian parents do not directly express love to their children. How many homes do we find our mum and dad saying, "I love you" to their children, or hugging their children, or holding them. Especially when these children have gotten to a certain age. Most Nigerian adults feel that they have to act unfriendly to children,to earn respect from them. This is not true. You can treat each child you see with respect, and get respect in turn. Respect is reciprocal. We have to show love to our children, do not think they are clueless, unimportant things you can yell at,at your pleasure, and talk to only when we want someone to go for an errand. Try to ask how they feel about some things concerning them, ask for their opinion before making a decision that affects them, buy them nice things once in a while, do not speak rudely to them, they have feelings too. Get to converse with them daily. Know what they like or dislike, let them tell you about their fears...

LEARN TO LET GO!

I have learnt to avoid some unhealthy relationships, which I know would end up hurting me, like am liking this guy, and we are getting into ourselves, and I know if I go any further,I would get addicted to him, and its obvious that we wont work, because of some factors, like, say, distance, (long distance is scary way to go) or because of our extreme religion, and were are not those daring people who are ready to defile religion. Its safer not going deep into such guy you know will hurt you, without him knowing it. Let him pass, if he is your, something will work out, don't force it.
