WHEN YOUR HEART STOPS BEATING.

When I place my palm on my left chest, I feel my heart beats, the heart doesn't stop beating as long as we are alive, it only stops when we die. Funny, We could be alive and still feel our heart no longer beats. This is when we feel that we have nothing to look forward to. We all need reasons to live, this unknown to us is really important, because when we no longer find any reason to keep living we enter a critical state, some people in this state take their lives. Normally, when I wake every morning, I see a reason to go through the day, then I will be motivated to prepare and start off my day. In my life it had been chasing one academic qualifications or the other, also my love for family and dear friends and the thought of having them around, and then also because I look forward to something, (nice things, anything) happening in my nearest future. Right now, lemme tell you how I feel, I feel blank. I do not look forward to anything at this point in my life, I cannot think of anything to look forward to, and I know this is worst than when your heart stops beating, yea, my heart isn't beating for anything right now, its a deadly state to be in, but I feel I am in it. Nothing excites me anymore, nothing fancies my attention. I know why, its because at this moment of my life, I need new things to happen, different from my normal life, as I cannot see the changes I seek, I feel jaded with life. This means that anything I do this period of my life, I do as a matter of routine, not with excitement or enthusiasm. Its a bad state to be in, but I am in it. We have a lot of people like myself in this same situation, but with different reasons, it maybe that they once had huge expectations that never came to life and this saddened them exceedingly so that they no longer have any motivation to live, or just like me, they look forward to some major changes in their life but everything seems unchanging, or they have been disappointed and their feeling brutally hurt, then they withdraw into themselves, finding no motivation to live. I am aware there are so many reasons to leave a person blank or feeling empty. Another really notable issue as regards being jaded with life, is our response to it, the worst is committing suicide. Yes, it is one of the cause of suicide, when a person loses all motivation to live. It depends on what had happened to such person, and the belief the person holds. Like, I cannot do that because it is a sin that will lead me to hell, and because my hope on God who I believe in, still sustaines me. However, a person can be in that state, and become extremely sad, and sink into the pit of depression, (a higher degree of sadness) this is a dangerous state because at point, a lot of people has been reported to have taken their own life. Another response is trying to hurt the feelings of others around you, by talking to them without caring how they feel, or how your actions will affect them. Yet another response is withdrawal, getting into your self-made shell and locking yourself in, and shutting everyone else out, leaving the people who really want to connect with you feeling helpless. Now a better response to the feeling of lack of interest for anything at all, is to develop an interest in something for starters, it could be learning a new skill, seeing a new seasonal movie, getting to know someone new, start reading a book, also searching the bible and noting how much God loves and values us. As for me I am responding to the feeling by writing this, though it doesn't help so much, but it helps a little. You reading this may have a tip or two that can help us who are going through this stage of life to see more reasons to look forward to so as to keep living. If you have a tip or two please share. You may be saving a life or two.
