It is not a waste of money to take your children through standard schools, especially primary and secondary school. Their ways of reasoning and speaking, are mainly affected by their interaction and training in these periods of their lives. 30 days and counting we ceased to have electricity in our city, this is Africa, this situation isn't strange. Then, I had read in the news where the Electrical Engineers stated that it may last this long. I had to stay in this state of black-out for that long.
