NIGERIAN LADY GOES TO THE MARKET!

The way Nigerians bargain for goods in the market, can be really wierd! Lolz especially ladies! A lady strolling through a market picks up an Item, (a red sandals) The conversation usually goes thus:- lady>"Madam how much?" Seller> "Na #3000 aunty" Lady>"No be #1500?" (Turning the red sandals around in a "disinterested" manner, while inwardly she has mentally calculated three of her gowns she will "rock" with the red sandals! Seller> "This sandle na the original, (bends sandal in a bow form, displaying its quality lolz), see am, you go use am for long time. Take am for #2800, Aunty, na #3000 dey dey sell this sandals. Lady> hmm, oya make I pay #2000, #2000 good for the Sandals :madam, #2000, good, make we leave am like that. Seller> aah aunty I know even see am buy for that price o, aunty make I just make you customer, aunty oya bring #2600, I don try. Lady> madam abeg I know get that kind money, (she has 6000k in her hand bag o.lolz), na that #2000 I hold come buy the sandals, make I put #200, (hehee) I no say you don try! Abeg abeg. Seller> frowns face, shakes head,"aunty I no buy am like that. *silence* I fit give you #2500 last price.Make e bi say the sandals no stay with me, go round market you no go see am that price buy. Lady> ahnn madam na market we dey oo , why I know go see am that price.(lady knows she likes the sandals and may not see it again but keeps bargaining skillfully.lolz) Seller> Na me dey tell you. Lady> Madam give me the sandals for #2400, up and down, na wey tin I get. Meself I don't try. Seller> Nooo, na that #2500 I fit sell am last.(pretends to be tired of the whole conversation, returns the sandals to its former position). Lady> OK o(turns to leave, reduces walking step, praying the Seller will call her back).lolz. Seller> (calls out) "oya come take am" Lady> Pays #2400. (FINALLY) Collects her new red sandals! Or it ends this way Lady leaves shoe store, after the Seller refuses "her" #2400 bargain, and unfortunately the Seller "refused" to call her back as she prayed. Lady will now do a U-turn "with her own legs"lolz and go and pay the #2500 and collect her new red sandals! Nigerian Lady goes to the Market! ............. Every time I step out of a market I just have this funny feeling about all that just happened . "Going to Market" in Nigeria isn't a child's play, Its serious business. Now the kind of market I am talking about are major markets like Balogun market in Lagos, Aswani market, still in Lagos, Onitsha main market! Anambra state, maybe Okpete market Enugu. These markets I just mentioned are for the "brave in heart" and "skillful" in market antics! Especially if you have the intention of shoping for "several" items at once. As a Nigerian woman trying to make sure you meet your needs within your means, you just have to know some market skills and try to get the best bargain for what you wish to buy.The good thing is, living in Nigeria and having Nigerian parents or Guardian especially those who let us go to market with them, we have some mommies, their "market purchasing skills " is on EXPERT LEVEL. ON A LIGHTER NOTE, lolz I know some women who will "price down" an Item and when the Seller says "oya bring money," these women will then price it down again! Chai! Lolz. If it happens to be a Yoruba woman selling, she will end up hurling insult on that buyer in her language, and tell the buyer "I no dey sell again"! Lolzz. ALARORO!!! LOL. One Secret, "my mom is a Pro in Market skills" But my dad has not that kind of patience, he doesn't even go to that kind of market! Except that year at Christmas, he took us to "Balogun" to buy "Christmas Clothes". I remember him calling his wife to come and "price" some things he personally wanted to get! Lolzz You can not learn these market Skills in Class. And as a Lady in Nigeria, the skill is useful and interesting. I guess I am an expert too! I had practically "priced"(bargained for) everything I own, I like to price, to the extent that I get angry when someone buys something for me without letting me price! While I am there Lolz. P:S. I don't like to buy things in all those places that has fixed price! (Our different lifes in Nigeria).

DO NOT BE GUITY OF FAILED PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY!

It is not a waste of money to take your children through standard schools, especially primary and secondary school. Their ways of reasoning and speaking, are mainly affected by their interaction and training in these periods of their lives. It is not a bad idea for your child to attend boarding schools also, especially those schools that have high level of discipline and care. Boarding school makes them to have stronger personalities, to be independent-decision-makers. And give them focus, and a sense of purpose. It has it disadvantages also, which might be that the child may join bad companies. However the chance of a well trained Godly child to escape from bad company, is high. I didn't consider it. Being bullied may be another disadvantage, but this one could act to make the child stronger and to device means to overcome the act of being bullied. The burden to inculcate good virtues, beliefs and values into them, is solely on the parents. Which should be done daily and inten...

CALM DOWN,BAD SITUATIONS DO CHANGE! PATIENTLY WAIT FOR IT.

30 days and counting we ceased to have electricity in our city, this is Africa, this situation isn't strange. Then, I had read in the news where the Electrical Engineers stated that it may last this long. I had to stay in this state of black-out for that long. Few days ago, thankfully it was on a weekend, our precious electricity was restored, the room, the kitchen, everywhere lited up. All my mind kept telling me was, I survived, wow, I survived. Yea, truly I'd survived. During those period of darkness, I had to take my few essential electrically rechargeables to charge at work, then, I would plug my power bank at my landlord's house in the night time till 11pm, after using it to recharge my phone, the phone which I had succeeded in 'browsing' away its battery. The life without electricity was a little bit tiring at the beginning, but overtime, I got accustomed to it, it became a routine. I smoothly glided through like a new way of life. Then I was lying pea...
