YOUR HUSBAND IS NOT YOUR ATM MACHINE, GET TO WORK!

If you live, school, or you schooled in the East, you might have listened to that advert on Radio. (NGOZI!!!!!!!! Ó BIA RAw!!!!) Ngozi's teacher went to Ngozi's house to find out why Ngozi have not been coming to school, her mom told her teacher that Ngozi has Malaria, her teacher advised that mosquito net should be bought for Ngozi, the advert ended with Mama Ngozi saying WHEN MY HUSBAND COMES BACK WE WILL BUY. The first time I noticed the wrong in this, was the day I over heard my father sighing loudly, then he said, EVEN MOSQUITO NET. lolz. "My husband will bring money to "marry" me, my husband will pay for the Wedding Ceremony, he will buy my Wedding gown and all my Jewelries, he will order it online from Dubai, he will buy his suit too, he will give me money to buy ashebi materials to sell to my friends, my husband will buy our rings, He will bring money for the Wedding souvenir. HE WILL SEND ME AIRTIME TO CALL MY FRIENDS FOR OUR WEDDING. MY husband will rent house, or buy land and build the house we will live in. He will buy car for me too. I have in mind that he will complete my father's house, my mother and father held a meeting on this. It is my husband's duty to pay all our children's school fees, he is supposed to give me money to go and buy clothes for our children, and my own share to buy for myself. My husband will be giving me money to make my hair and nails, IN FACT, MY HUSBAND'S DUTY IS TO PROVIDE MONEY FOR ALL I NEED IN MY LIFE, EVEN MY MENSTRUAL PAD, AND MY PANT AND BRA!' If you are a Nigerian Lady and you still continue to think like this, GO AND DO SOME CONSULTATIONS, MAYBE YOU MIGHT BE CURSED! You are the one compounding to the problems of Nigerian women in this country, hide your face in shame if you cannot show substantially what you provide for yourself. Its your type that can't open your BIG MOUTH when he gives you a hot slap. BECAUSE YOU ARE A FREAKING DEPENDANT. YOU ARE THE ONE THAT WILL BE QUICK TO SHOUT DOWN WOMEN LOOKING TO EMPOWER THEMSELVES EVEN FINANCIALLY. No matter the kind of relationship you two are into, do not think it is your right, or his duty to provide every thing worth providing. Every kind of good relationship is a partnership, both sides have to contribute, it is for both of you to agree who contributes more and why, but you MUST, as a woman Contribute too no matter how little. Now I am talking CONTRIBUTING MONEY. Do not feel lucky when he says you should be in the house doing nothing at all, cos a time will come that he will not remember it was his idea, that time when he will feel cheated, it always comes. There is always something you can do, ask around you will find. Do not sit at home watching TV, gossiping and fighting. Waiting for your husband to bring you heaven and earth. WAKE UP. IT IS FOR THE GOOD OF ALL OF US. So that you will spare us, stories that touch.
